Northern Civic Report welcomes considered contributions that help general readers understand the design and use of civic places and everyday infrastructure. We value specific questions, clear explanations and careful boundaries.
What to pitch
Propose an original article about a distinct feature or idea in streets, public spaces, transport connections, facilities or place design. A strong pitch names the reader's question, states the main point and sketches how the article will explain it without relying on statistics, first-hand testing or specialist access.
What makes a good piece
Use plain English, define technical terms and keep the article focused on one main idea. Separate established facts from interpretation, avoid unsupported claims about how a place works, and note when local rules or conditions would change the answer. We do not seek promotional copy disguised as editorial work.
Send a proposal
Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include a working title, a short summary and any relevant links or context you can provide. A proposal is not a promise of publication.
